Last year on August 12, 2017, when white nationalist gathered up and rallied in Charlottesville, VA, it was so chaotic that the governor declared a state of emergency. 43,000 people were in the streets, including white supremacy groups and counter-protestors.

One of the most horrific moments from that day was when a white nationalists drove his car into a crowd of people, killing an innocent 32-year-old woman, Heather Heyer. She was protesting against the white nationalist.

The driver, James Alex Fields, 21, was charged for second-degree murder. Reported on BBC, he was found guilty on all the charges “including murder; five counts of aggravated malicious wounding; three counts of malicious wounding and one count of hit and run. He faces 20 years to life and will be sentenced at a later date.

This time last year my friends Eric and Jack (blue shirt/baseball cap) were nearly killed when a white supremacist plowed his car into a crowd of peaceful #protesters in #charlottesville #virginia. #heatherheyer lost her life that day as a result of this #hatecrime – To all my C’ville friends, I’m thinking about you today. And to the rest of the world, we must continue to fight for love and acceptance. Don’t give up…don’t lose HOPE! We are all worth fighting for. #love The 3rd photo is an offer for free counseling in C’ville until the 13th. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need support over the next few days.
