Years ago in 2014, Lil’ Wayne started the promotion to his anticipated album Tha Carter V with a single featuring Drake titled “Believe Me.”

While many didn’t believe that track would be on the album, it was a surprise to not see Drake at all. In a conversation with Elliott Wilson for the CRWN series on Tidal, Lil’ Wayne addressed the omission.

“He has a song that didn’t get cleared,” he said. “The clearances man. The clearances man. People be trippin’ when they find out who it is and when they find out what the song’s subject is about. They don’t represent the names of something like that.”

Weezy also spoke about Birdman’s apology during his surprise appearance at Lil’ Weezyiana Fest earlier this year.

“I was on stage, I was in performance mode, I was trying to remember the words,” he said. “Somebody actually had to tell me, ‘Oh he apologized to you onstage tonight.’

If you can’t get enough of Lil’ Wayne, apparently there’s more in the chamber waiting to be released.
