Megan Thee Stallion took the stand in the Tory Lanez shooting trial.
She was greeted with support and love from fans and gave a thumbs up when asked how she was doing. Megan didn’t make eye contact with Tory.
During her 45-minute testimony, she was filled with emotion, having to relive the events of the horrific shooting in 2020. Megan revealed an argument started after she wanted to leave Kylie Jenner’s house and Tory didn’t. Then she says they continued arguing in the SUV, and another fight about their careers escalated.
Moments later, Megan said she got out of the vehicle after Kelsey and Tory argued. When Megan got out of the SUV, she says Tory ordered her to “dance b*tch” and shot her five times. NBC reports that Megan felt “shocked” and “hurt” once she saw blood on her feet. The report also says she didn’t know Tory had a gun on him.
According to LA Times journalist James Queally, Defense attorney George Mgdesyan says, “no one else will testify Lanez (or anyone) yelled the phrase “‘dance, b*tch!”
The Houston, Texas rapper went on to say that after the gunshots, her former best friend Kelsey and the security guard with them that night looked shocked. When asked why she didn’t call the police, Megan said at the time, America was at the height of police brutality and didn’t feel safe with cops.
TMZ reports Tory later said,”‘ Don’t say anything and I’ll give you a million dollars,’ adding he was already on probation.” In addition, Megan “remembers thinking about how he seemed more concerned about possibly going to jail than shooting her.”
Megan says police approached the party of four and told everyone to get out of the car. She told police there was glass in her foot, but doctors later discovered bullet fragments in her feet. During the testimony, Megan said,
“I couldn’t walk for a while. I still have nerve damage. I can’t really feel the side of my left foot. The back of my feet are always sore, but I just push through it.”
Megan also brought up the drama in the male-dominated industry, becoming a target. The “Pressurelicious” rapper referred to it as a “big boys club.” It’s possible she’s referring to the recent Drake and 21 Savage song, “Circo Loco.”
TMZ reports before cross-examination, Megan told the court, “I wish he [Tory] would’ve just killed me if I knew I’d have to go through this.” Kelsey is expected to “testify and corroborate a text message she sent shortly after the attack which read ‘Tory shot Meg,’ James reports. Megan said she never saw Kelsey with the gun, only Tory.
