Last night (Feb 5), the New England Patriots enjoyed their latest championship in improbable fashion after going into overtime and overcoming a 28-3 deficit.
Teams traditionally are invited to the White House following a big championship win just like this. While quarterback Tom Brady, and Owner Robert Kraft have a good relationship with President Donald Trump, his tone and controversial actions may alienate players from the trip.
One player, tight end Martellus Bennet has already announced he would choose to boycott if he was invited in a comment to Huffington Post.
“I haven’t thought about it. I am not going to go,” he said. “I can elaborate later on in life; right now I am just trying to enjoy this … People know how I feel about it, just follow me on Twitter.”
How do you feel about it?
