Sheff G was almost on his way home after a two year bid, but he has more legal issues.
ABC reports, Sheff G, born Michael Williams, plus 32 purported Brooklyn gang members were charged for multiple shootings. In one of the shootings, it left one person dead and dozens injured.
According to the indictment, the defendants are all members of 8 Trey Crips and its affiliate, the 9 Ways gang, and allegedly committed shootings, possessed guns, and used stolen cars to eliminate rivals that included members of Folk Nation Gangster Disciples and ICG Babiiez, the report says. In addition, the indictment covers 27 acts of violence, including 12 shootings:
Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said:
“The senseless gun violence, allegedly committed by these defendants, terrorized our neighbors for years and left more than a dozen people with serious injuries. It is distressing to know that some of the violence was allegedly fueled by a young man who used money he made from a successful music career to allegedly pay for and encourage acts of violence.”
Prosecutors say Sheff offered lavish gifts to those who carried out violet crimes. They also accuse him of rounding up three “shooters” to a crime scene and he acted as getaway driver.
The most “egregious incident” – a 2020 shooting where defendant, Kamondre Dekattu, was captured on surveillance video emerging firing shots from an Infiniti. It resulted in an alleged Folk Nation rival, Theodore Senior, 23, getting killed. Kamondre is charged with the murder. Sheff and his sister, Crystal Williams are charged with being part of the conspiracy to commit murder, for this incident and others.
Prosecutors say after that incident, Sheff celebrated with his gang at a lavish steakhouse in NYC. During a news conference, Gonzalez said:
“Sheff G became a prominent member of this gang and became central to our investigation,” Gonzalez said during a news conference. “Sheff G used a lot of the money that he earned to facilitate further gang activity. He encouraged gang members to participate in violent crimes.”
In 2021, Sheff pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. He was arrested in August 2020 after leading two Nassau County Police Department cars on a high-speed chase. He sped through an intersection and ended up hitting the bumper of a woman’s car, then crashed into a tree.
