A Texas high school student, Gavin Turnage, is going to be graduating with a college degree before even receiving his high school diploma. At only 17 years old, the high school student will be graduating this year with an associate’s degree in science from La Porte High School.

According to ABC, his mother Charla Buras states, “I’m super proud of him. He amazes me every day. He’s managed to pull this off all thanks to a program called ACE, which he started before his junior year.”

Buras says, “Right now I’m in Physics 2, Calculus 3, and Composite 2, Texas Government,” he said. “I want to be a biomedical engineer. [I want to&#93 design prosthetics. That’s what I want to do. … Honestly, I just can’t wait to finally go pursue a higher education and get a career in engineering.”

This is the definition of flexing.

His mother adds, “We started flashcards when he was a baby in the bathtub. He’s got a bright future. He definitely does. I couldn’t be more proud. I’m ready for bigger, better things.”

He also was working a part-time job during the duration of his high school career. He will be graduating in May, with a degree under his belt.
