At the end of 2018, R. Kelly was gearing up for a new single, recording a new album and looking to go on tour overseas.
That all changed following the release of the Lifetime docu-series Surviving R. Kelly, where multiple women detailed their experiences with the singer, including allegations of sex with minors, sexual assault, and abusive behavior.
This morning (Mar. 6), R. Kelly sat down with Gayle King on CBS This Morning where he discussed the recent charges against him.
“I’m very tired of all of the lies,” he exclaimed passionately during the conversation. “I’ve been hearing things, and you know, and seeing things on the blogs, and you know, you know, I’m just tired.”
He later continued as he stood up to rant about the claims and charges against him.
“Everybody says something bad about me. Nobody said nothin’ good,” he said. “They was describing Lucifer. I’m not Lucifer. I’m a man. I make mistakes, but I’m not a devil, and by no means am I a monster.”

In 2008, R. Kelly was found not guilty on 14 counts of child pornography after prosecutors failed to convince a jury that he was the man seen in a sex tape with a girl as young as 13.
