Rick Ross Says He Almost Signed To Shaquille O’Neal

In a new Complex interview, Rick Ross has been sharing all the details of his project with Meek Mill that dropped today. One tidbit he shared was that the track, Shaq & Kobe holds a special meaning because he almost signed to Shaquille O’Neal‘s record label back in the day.

“Many years ago I met with Shaq,” he said. “He was launching his T.W.IsM. Records. We met in Atlanta somewhere. We met in a restaurant. Then we went in the back, in the kitchen. I spit a few bars for him. He gave me his contact, [and] we stayed in touch for a little bit. But, you know how that go.”

Shaq ended up making an appearance on the remix of the song along with Damian Lillard.

Along with the joint album, Too Good To Be True, Rick Ross and Meek Mill made a joined the Inside the NBA taping on Thursday night. The two reunited with joining Shaquille O’Neal, as wel as Ernie Johnson, Kenny “The Jet” Smith and Charles Barkley.
