RIP: Takeoff Reportedly Shot & Killed In Houston

Takeoff, known for being a member of Migos has reportedly passed away after being shot.

According to TMZ, himself and Quavo were at Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas when the incident happened.

The story reports that both members of Unc & Phew were playing dice when an altercation then broke out which resulted in gunshots.

Two or three others were reportedly shot at the scene early Tuesday morning. and are being attended to at a local hospital according to reports from KPRC in Houston.

According to Houston Police Department Lt. Salazar, 40 to 50 people were at the scene at the time. When they arrived they saw a victim – now confirmed to be Takeoff – with a gunshot would to the “head or neck.”

Despite initial reports, Quavo has not been shot at the scene. The rapper was only 28-years-old at the time of his passing.

Takeoff, born Kirshnik Ball is the nephew of Quavo, and cousin of Migos groupmate Offset. The three family members formed Migos in 2008. The trio grew to nationwide prominence following the single “Versace” in which Drake hopped on the remix in 2013.

As the trio, Migos went on to continue their success with four studio albums, Culture and Culture II which reached number two on the Billboard 200 charts, and the most recent Culture III which peaked at #2.

Known as the most laid back member of the group, he also released a solo album titled The Last Rocket in 2018 which included the single “Last Memory.”

Migos last performed at HOT 97 Summer Jam in 2021 at Metlife Stadium, where they performed hits from the album Culture III as well as bringing out Cardi B.
