Over the weekend two Black men were arrested at a Starbucks in Philadelphia for literally doing nothing…

According to reports the store manager called the police because the two men were sitting in the establishment without ordering anything.  When asked to leave, the Black men stood their ground, and stayed at the Starbucks location until they were arrested by police.

Many questioned why the two were being arrested, nonetheless no one had real answers besides the reported “trespassing.”

Keep in mind, customers are welcomed to sit in Starbucks, work, chat, use the free Wi-Fi, bathroom, without ordering anything to drink or eat.

Since then, the CEO of Starbuck apologized to the public along with the two men that were arrested.

Regretfully, our practices and training led to a bad outcome — the basis for the call to the Philadelphia Police Department was wrong. Our store manager never intended for these men to be arrested and this should never have escalated as it did.

The police commissioner of Philadelphia stood by his officers and said they did nothing wrong, and followed their trespassing policy.

These officers had legal standing to make this arrest,” said Commissioner Ross.  “These officers did absolutely nothing wrong. They followed policy, they did what they were supposed to do, they were professional in all their dealings with these gentlemen — and instead they got the opposite back.

According to reports the two victims agreed to meet with the CEO of Starbucks.

At first the CEO refused to comment on whether or not the store manager that called the cops will face any disciplinary actions nonetheless the news just broke that the store manager was LET GO…

DAMN #Repost @shaunking ・・・ Dear @starbucks, This is shameful. Your managers should be fired for having these two young Black men wrongly arrested. And you need to offer restitution to these men immediately. Here’s the quote from the original person (thank you Melissa) who posted this on Twitter: “The police were called because these men hadn’t ordered anything. They were waiting for a friend to show up, who did as they were taken out in handcuffs for doing nothing. All the other white ppl are wondering why it’s never happened to us when we do the same thing.”
