The hip-hop community will soon say goodbye to rap legend DMX.

X’s funeral is set for this weekend.

Swizz Beatz is reportedly trying to get Kanye West to attend DMX’s service. The vigil at the Barclays on April 24 won’t be open to fans. However, they can live stream the service XXL reports.

The “Slippin” rapper touched the Barclays stage in 2017 as part of a Ruff Ryders reunion show and in 2019 at the Masters of Ceremony concert. DMX and Yeezy linked up in 2019 at Kanye’s Sunday Service. X delivered a powerful prayer. It’s not clear as of right now if Kanye will show up. Hopefully, he does.

Earlier in April, DMX was rushed to the hospital due to a heart attack triggered by an overdose. He was in critical condition and fighting for his life for a week. Ruff Ryders held a vigil in the streets outside of White Plains hospital, where he was recovering. Unfortunately, his brain is in a “vegetative state,” and he passed away on April 9.

DMX was only 50 years old. He left behind 15 children and a fiancée, Desire Lindstrom. Take a look back at that time Chris Brown surprised the Summer Jam crowd and brought out D-M-X!
