Some say that this is the biggest announcement since the CDC announced COVID-19.

Once this album is released, we will make an uproar.

The rapper teased his newest album "Carter VI" during his Young Money Reunion performance over the weekend (August 6). This took place during the final night of Drake's October World Weekend festival, which was held on Toronto's Budweiser Stage. As Drizzy was finishing up his farewell speech, Weezy interrupted him to reveal the good news. After this, a giant sign that read "Tha Carter VI" appeared onstage.

Following this, Lil Wayne posted on his Instagram story yesterday saying, "What up y'all? Tunechi here. Thank you. I ain't shit without you. I don't know if you heard, but Carter VI is on its way!" Along with this short clip, the rapper shared a pre-save link for his new music. However, this isn't the first time Wayne teased his new album.

In an interview with Variety back in July 2020, the artist shared that his favorite Carter album is "the next one". In other words, Wayne had already been working on Carter VI for over two years. A month later, Weezy went on ESPN to give fans a hint of his newest work. Towards the end of the interview, he shared with viewers, "Carter VI is coming soon, but I got 'No Ceilings [3] coming first."

Surely enough, Lil Wayne kept his word. This would be the sixth edition of Tha Carter series since "Carter V" was released in 2018.

OVO Festival August 6th.

Prior to Wayne's biggest announcement, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne were back onstage together after nearly a decade. The Young Money Reunion featured OG songs including "Every Girl", "HYFR", "Moment 4 Life", "The Motto" and "Up All night". The trio continuously praised one another throughout the show.

Originally planning to have OVO Fest 2022 a week ago, but unfortunately, Drake contracted COVID-19. Additionally, Drake also shared with the audience that Lil Wayne was having issues crossing the border Saturday night August 6th. On the backdrop onstage, a giant sign read, "Unfortunately, Lil Wayne had issues at the border." Immediately, everyone in the audience booed at the stage. But, after a brief pause people felt a sigh of relief once the sign continued, "Luckily, Drake runs the border."
