The CDC has released new school regulations for students are in the classroom.

The agency has announced that they “recommend that, with universal masking, students should maintain a distance of at least 3 feet in classroom settings.” It was previously stated that distance recommendation should be at least six feet.

However, according to NPR, the new guidelines still require that adults and students still remain six feet apart while in common areas such as the cafeteria when the masks are off for eating and in auditoriums.

The rule still applies to the general public as in the grocery store. This new 3-foot rule will allow many more schools to open up full-time. This is a major change from the required hybrid schedule that was put in place during the start of the pandemic.
