There will be some changes coming to Instagram.

The social media brand will be removing the visible number of ‘Likes’ under a post for some of its U.S. users as a way to decrease competitive pressure among posts as a test.

This test has already taken place in Canada, Brazil, and Japan.

The boss of Instagram, Adam Mosseri said, “What we’re hoping to do is depressurize Instagram a little bit, and make it a bit less of a competition. The idea is to try and reduce anxiety and social comparisons, specifically with an eye towards young people.”

However, users will have the option to view their likes under their own post but it won’t be visible to others.

The test is set to begin next week and will impact a portion of Instagram’s U.S user base.
