Tyler Perry is doing what he can to help Kenneth Walker.
Walker is the boyfriend of the late Breonna Taylor, who was murdered in her home for no reason at the hands of the police. Minneapolis police entered Taylor’s home while her boyfriend Walker was there with a “no-knock warrant” for a drug investigation. Walker says the police never announced themselves so he thought intruders were breaking in so he fired a warning shot. The police fired back nearly 20 shots, tragically taking Taylor’s life away.
Walker, who is legally permitted to carry a weapon is being sued by Louisville Sergeant Jonathan Mattingly for emotional distress, assault, and battery. Mattingly says he experienced “severe trauma, mental anguish, and emotional distress” the night that Breonna Taylor was killed.
A GoFundMe page was created for Walker back in November however, movie giant Perry has stepped in and covered $100,000 for Walker’s legal defense The Jasmine Brand reports.
Walker appeared on CBS This Morning a few months ago and said he’s “a million percent sure cops didn’t announce themselves.”
