The amount of tragic news received this week is at an all-time high as a 17 -year-old Muslim girl by the name of Nabra Hassanen was brutally murdered by 22-year-old Darwin A. Martinez Torres.
Nabra Hassanen and a group of teens were said to be walking along Dranesville Road in Sterling Virginia before a dispute broke out between the suspect driving a car.
Torres reportedly got out of his car and assaulted 17-yea-old Nabra Hassanen, hitting her in the head, and throwing her in a body of water.
“What investigators told the father and the mother, he hit her in the head and put her in the car and he threw her in the water,” said Abas Sherif the spokesperson for Hassanen’s family.
This incident has sparked an outrage on social media, demanding answers from both the Virginia police department and Donald Trump.
According to the Fairfax County Police they will not investigate this as a hate crime.
