Every year, the Recording Academy pays their respects to those who have fallen in the past year in the music industry. One name was missing during last night’s In Memorium which has a lot of fans upset.

Last night (Feb. 10), while names such as Mac Miller, Avicii and Aretha Franklin were being remembered, XXXTentacion who was shot and killed on June 2018 was not.

According to Variety, the reason the Grammys declined to remember the rapper was because of his history of domestic violence. The report states that XXXTentacion’s estate had requested his name be recognized several times, but was denied.

He is included in the full list on the Grammys website.

There is no official word by the Recording Academy as of yet.
