Memphis rap group, Fast Cash Boyz and two-time Grammy nominated producer, Tay Keith, linked up to release their highly-anticipated EP, F*uck The Cash Up, which was released back in May.The 13-song EP featuring mega producers including Murda Beatz and Tay Keith.
Fast Cash Boyz and Tay Keith have been working together since they were kids, and the world finally gets to hear their collaborative greatness. The project is said to be the soundtrack of the Summer.
Following the release of the EP, FCB and Tay Keith dropped a visual to a single off the project, titled Let’s Get Em’. Directed by Zach Hurth, the video shows the crew living their lavish- fast cash lifestyle, with money, luxury cars, and some bling. Check out the video below.
We got a chance to speak with Tay Keith and the Fast Cash Boyz ahead of their EP release, and learned more about how the project came together.
”The relationship between FCB and Tay Keith in the studio is very organic and working on this project was no different. We’ve all known each other for about 8yrs or so already and always plotted to release music together. Fans can expect to hear some straight-up Memphis sh*t! Real Memphis culture. We bringing the fans and listeners to our world and we gonna be sure they have fun with it too. FCB also helped mold Tay Keith’s sound as a producer.”
If you’re new to the FCB sound, you probably didn’t know that the group actually group up together and have been making music since they were young.
“FCB grew up together in the same neighborhood. Jizzle and C Money of FCB were rapping on one side of the same neighborhood while TP & Money were doing the same thing. They decided to come together and do one song, the rest is history.”
With a very unique sound, it’s no secret that growing up in Memphis played a big part in the groups sound. The group says some of their inspirations include, Three Six Mafia, Migos, Future
