The singer will make her acting debut in

movie the musical. The Oscar-winning singer-songwriter will play the role of Squeak, who, in the musical, goes from a juke joint waitress to an aspiring singer, Hollywood Reporter points out. The publication also notes, Rae Dawn Chong played the role in the original Spielberg film.
