Even though Pop Smoke is no longer here, his music lives on.

“AP” is the first new single since the posthumous release of Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon. The song is off his upcoming debut film, Boogie. Take a listen to a snippet:

Deadline reports the movie is a “coming-of-age” story. The plot is about a man named Alfred “Boogie” Chin who lives in Queens, New York, and is passionate about basketball. Boogie has big dreams of one day playing in the NBA but his parents want him to focus on getting a scholarship to an elite college. Boogie’s challenge is having to find a way to navigate “a new girlfriend, high school, on-court rivals and the burden of expectation”, the article reports.

Boogie’s character becomes enemies with Pop Smoke’s character after meeting him on the court and in the streets. Other actors include Taylor Takahashi, Taylour Paige, Pamelyn Chee, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Alexa Mareka, Mike Moh, and Perry Yung. The film is directed by Eddie Huang, who is making his directorial debut. Rafael Martinez is the executive producer.

Boogie will be out on March 5, 2021. “AP” will be released Feb. 26!
