After storming onto the scene with her smash hit “Icy Girl” earlier this year, Saweetie continues to ride her momentum. Aside from her oozing confidence, real talent and eye-catching fashion sense, one consistent weapon Saweetie uses to her advantage is her connection to her home: the Bay Area. The Northern California region is known for having a more relaxed feel than its SoCal counterpart, and Saweetie’s recent collaborations show she loves paying homage to her home as much as she can.

Singer-songwriter sensation Kehlani is a fellow Bay Area honey that linked up with Saweetie for a dope collaboration. The two remixed “Icy Girl” and dropped the “Bae Mix” version, which came equipped with a fly new video. Although Kehlani is known more for her sweet singing, she came through with the hard bars for this feature, rightfully giving the hit the boost it deserved.

Recently, Saweetie tapped another huge Bay Area name for her latest hit “Up Now.” G-Eazy spit a verse on the track, and similar to Saweetie’s verse, he makes sure to highlight how he’s from the Bay Area as well.

Right from the start, Saweetie reps her set:

“From the Bay to Sacramento, all the way to SoCal,

I’m a West side n***a with a boujee ass sound.”

Later in the song, G-Eazy also starts off shouting out the Bay:

“Leave the stage, buy the chain all bust-down/

Ayy, Bay Area, we up now”

He then makes sure to let Saweetie know he always has her back:

“All around the world, yeah, they know the G-Eazy song

Bay to the world, tryna put my city on

I got you on a verse, Saweetie what you need me on?

Let me know, Sac to the O

I was gone for a minute, came back with the glow

I come from the Bay where they actually go”
