Drake Drops At Midnight: Rumors & Speculation
This is not a drill! Drake has announced via Instagram that he is releasing a new album titled “Honestly, Nevermind” at midnight. This news comes in the same week that Beyoncé announced her summer album “Reniassance Part One.”
“Honestly, Nevermind” is set to be released 12 years and 2 days after Drake’s debut album “Thank Me Later.” This will be Drizzy’s third album released in the Summer, along with the aforementioned Thank Me Later and Scorpion.

Drake’s surprise announcement helps him avoid leaks and takes advantage of having the drop day to himself. The other hip-hop artists slated for album releases tomorrow are Logic, Brent Faiyaz, Kevin Gates, Westside Boogie, and Duke Deuce; meaning Drake is the only A-List superstar dropping tomorrow.
Here are my predictions for what to expect from Honestly, Nevermind.
There have been a handful of leaks out of Drake’s camp since his last album, Certified Lover Boy dropped. A snippet of Drake and Lil Uzi surfaced back in June, as well as a leaked clip of him and Beyoncé. Clips of Drake and French Montana have also surfaced on Twitter.
Drake’s previous summer albums featured huge hits like God’s Plan, Nice For What, In My Feelings, Mob Ties, Over, Miss Me, and Fancy. Expect radio hits and bangers, expect a mainstream sound and finely produced vocals.
Drizzy is a musical chameleon, he’s altered his sound and mastered trends for over a decade. Expect to hear a young artist from the drill scene and at least one international artist as a nod to either Afrobeats or Reggaeton, which are some of the hottest sounds in music.
If there’s two artists I expect to be on Honestly, Nevermind, it’s 21 Savage and/or Future. Knife Talk was one of the most popular and well-received songs off Certified Lover Boy and WAIT FOR U has gotten a lot of love on Future’s last album.
We’ve got a few hours before Drake gives us the soundtrack to the summer, let’s see what Drizzy’s got for us!
