50 Cent recently did an with the Hollywood Reporter, where he discussed his ongoing feud with Diddy. 50 Cent, who is producing a documentary on Diddy for Netflix, has been openly critical of Sean Combs for years. This animosity has intensified as Combs faces multiple lawsuits over sexual abuse, rape, and sex trafficking allegations, which he denies.
“I’ve been very vocal about not going to Puffy parties and doing shit like that,” says 50 Cent, recalling his early interactions with Combs. He ghostwrote some of Combs’ songs, including the hit “Let’s Get It,” but has since kept his distance. “I’ve been staying out of that shit for years. It’s just an uncomfortable energy connected to it.”
50 Cent also mentioned a disturbing video of Combs attacking his then-girlfriend Cassie, whose lawsuit against him sparked his current legal troubles. “First, he denied that it even happened, and then the tape comes out — so that means everything that n—a says is a lie,” 50 Cent states. He expressed his outrage, particularly from a perspective of someone with a daughter, saying, “With all the influence and power you have, the person you’re with is supposed to want to be a part of your life, not be forced.”
The Netflix documentary on Diddy is being helmed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Alex Stapleton. Stapleton aims to create a “story that is authentic, multilayered, and deeply engaging for a global audience.”
When asked about his choice to produce a documentary on Diddy, 50 Cent explained his decision. He emphasized his unique position in hip-hop as a quality producer. He also recounted an awkward encounter where Diddy asked to take him shopping, which 50 Cent found “weird.”
Despite collaborating on a few songs, 50 Cent never considered Diddy a friend. “It was mostly work. Jennifer Lopez actually told him he should work with me as a songwriter in the beginning,” he said. Reflecting on the past, he humorously shared how he avoided Diddy’s calls. This frustrated his son’s mother, who was concerned about their financial situation.
