Tensions between global entertainer Akon and his estranged wife Stephanie Nicole spilled onto social media when Nicole posted a series of pointed Instagram Stories on March 29, addressing the singer during their ongoing divorce battle.
The posts arrive months after Nicole filed for divorce in September 2025, ending a marriage that stretched nearly three decades. Alongside the statements, Nicole shared throwback photos documenting moments from their 28-year relationship, juxtaposing memories of their life together with sharp criticism of the artist born Aliaune Thiam.
In the posts, Nicole rejected suggestions circulating online that she was upset about jewelry tied to the split. Instead, she accused the multi-platinum singer of giving out imitation pieces.
“If anyone has been gifted any jewelry of any kind from him I highly suggest you get it checked,” Nicole wrote. She followed with another claim aimed at Akon’s reputation for lavish gifts. “And while all of this is going on, he’s handing out moissanite jewelry to everybody,” she added. “Even French Montana said you got him a fake watch.”

Nicole framed the statements as a rare public response during the divorce saga. “This will be the first and last time I address this publicly,” she wrote. “I am no longer involved with Akon and have completely moved on.”
The Instagram Stories went beyond jewelry accusations, touching on what Nicole described as ongoing harassment tied to someone within Akon’s professional orbit.
“For too long I have been subjected to ongoing cyberbullying, harassment, and obsessive behavior directed at me and my family, specifically from an artist on his label,” she wrote. “This has gone far beyond anything acceptable and has affected my peace in ways that should never happen.”
Nicole issued a direct warning to the person she accused of harassment. “Leave me and my family alone completely,” she wrote. “No contact, no indirect contact, no monitoring, no messages, no involvement of any kind.”
The tone sharpened further as she criticized Akon’s handling of the situation, suggesting he allowed the conflict to escalate. “I will not continue to let this coward disrespect me,” Nicole wrote, alleging the individual had hacked the singer’s phone, tracked his movements, and monitored people in his circle.
She closed by referencing French Montana and alleging Akon had given the rapper a fake watch.
