Antonio Brown breaks his silence on why he left the field last week.

Brown was seen taking off all of his equipment and running off the field, in what reports are calling a “tantrum.” In a statement released by his attorney, Brown reveals the real reason he left the field.

Brown sys he is going to have ankle surgery and accused the Buccaneers of covering up his injury and forcing him to play while he was hurt.

“Because of my commitment to the game, I relented to pressure directly from my coach [Bruce Arians] to play injured,” Brown said in a statement via his attorney Sean Burstyn. “Despite the pain, I suited up, the staff injected me with what I know was a powerful and sometimes dangerous painkiller that the NFLPA has warned against using, and I gave it all for my team.”

He also released alleged text messages between he and the head coach.
