Azealia Banks has reignited her long-standing reputation for vitriol by taking aim at pop star Bebe Rexha.
After Rexha appeared at the Met Gala in a striking black gown, drawing praise from fans, Banks mocked her appearance online. In a now-viral post on X, she wrote that Rexha gave “hormonal birth control implant” energy, comparing her look to contraceptives like Implanon and NuvaRing.
Bebe Rexha responded with a poised yet cutting reply. She urged Banks to seek therapy, suggesting Lexapro helped her manage emotional struggles.
“Healing looks good on everyone,” Rexha added. She later shared a vulnerable truth, revealing she suffers from PCOS, has faced infertility, and recently endured a pregnancy loss. “I never owed anyone that truth,” she wrote, “but maybe now you’ll think twice before commenting on anyone’s body.”
Instead of offering remorse, Banks escalated the cruelty. She mocked Bebe Rexha’s use of Lexapro, warning of its side effects and dismissing her grief. The exchange highlighted Banks’s long pattern of targeting women, often cloaking her attacks as unfiltered honesty.
Rexha’s openness drew widespread support. In contrast, Banks’s refusal to reflect—much less apologize—reveals how her pursuit of provocation continues to alienate her from a culture she once helped shape.
