Angela White, formerly known as Blac Chyna, says she has reached a place of peace in raising her children alongside Rob Kardashian and Tyga. While speaking with PEOPLE about her upcoming film Pardon Me, she shared that her current co-parenting situation is working better than ever. “My co-parenting with Rob is 100 percent amazing,” she said. “For parents that’s going through it right now, I promise you, things do get better.”

Angela explained that her biggest key to keeping things healthy is respecting boundaries. She believes focusing on your own household is essential. “If you’re going through a custody battle or anything of the sort, I think the main thing for the other parent is to mind their own business,” she said with a laugh. She noted that making assumptions about the other parent can create problems that aren’t really there.

She has joint custody of both of her children, son King Cairo, whom she shares with Tyga, and daughter Dream, whom she shares with Rob. Her dynamic with Tyga is just as smooth. “Oh, me and Tyga, we co-parent perfectly. Everybody is, like, Kumbaya,” she said.

Looking back on her experiences, Angela says the most important thing is keeping the focus on the kids. “You have to do what’s best for the child,” she said. “We do what’s best for King, we do what’s best for Dream, and still have an open, good communication style.” She also warns parents never to use their children to pass messages or get involved in adult issues.

Outside of parenting, she has been working on Pardon Me, a biopic about anti-abortion activist Bevelyn B. Williams. Angela says she took the role because it challenges expectations. “I knew that it would probably stir up a few things… and that’s exactly why I did it.”
