Cardi B is showing off her confidence and creativity while expecting, unveiling a homemade video for her latest hit “Pretty & Petty.” The visual, which dropped Sunday, October 19th, finds the Bronx native fully leaning into her playful energy. Wearing a body-hugging polka-dot dress that highlights her pregnancy glow, Cardi keeps things raw and authentic in what looks like a self-shot video filmed at home or in an office.

The DJ Swanqo-produced track has been buzzing since it debuted, landing at No. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100. It quickly caught attention for Cardi’s pointed lyrics seemingly aimed at rapper BIA. “Name five BIA songs, gun pointin’ to your head/ Baow, I’m dead,” she raps before falling to the floor in the clip. Later, she keeps the energy going with more biting lines that mock BIA’s image and her lack of awards. “I’d rather die on the surgery table/ ‘Fore I gotta walk around here lookin’ like you/ You wanna beef with me, are you sure/ Do she even got a BET award,” she spits.

Although the track stirred up plenty of chatter, Cardi held back on releasing visuals earlier in the month. She explained she wanted to avoid clashing with BIA’s BIANCA album rollout. “I’ma be nice to you because it’s your album day,” Cardi said in a clip. “I don’t want to add to your stress.”

For her part, BIA recently reflected on the back-and-forth in an interview with Billboard. She said she preferred to keep any response separate from her project. “If I was to ever address it again, I would never attach it to my album, because this is a beautiful body of work that I believe in,” BIA shared. “I wouldn’t want to disservice this and overshadow it with noise or negativity.”
