Chance The Rapper and his ex-wife Kirsten Corley have finalized their divorce after reaching a settlement, according to TMZ. The couple filed legal documents in Cook County, Illinois, confirming their agreement to end their marriage. Details of the settlement remain private at this time.
Chance and Corley began dating in 2013, and their relationship grew over the years before they tied the knot in December 2018. After their divorce, Chance reflected on their journey to marriage, sharing on social media: “I knew I was gonna marry that girl. Sixteen years later it’s happening. This wknd is the time, and the place is my wedding. I’m gonna dance with my wife because this is my destiny.” Together, they have two daughters, Kensli and Marli, who have often been featured in Chance’s music.
Their separation was publicly announced in April of last year. In an Instagram post, they stated: “After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.” Corley filed for divorce in December, citing irreconcilable differences.
The couple had experienced several ups and downs over the years, including a highly publicized incident last year involving Chance at Jamaica’s Carnival, where he was filmed dancing with another woman. Corley later shared a Maya Angelou quote on Instagram, sparking speculation that it referenced the video. Despite the controversy, reports suggested the pair had worked through the issue at the time. Now, with their divorce finalized, both parties seem committed to co-parenting their daughters amicably.
