After facing major backlash, Chingy has dropped out of his upcoming performance at a rep. The “Right Thurr” rapper was set to perform in Nashville, Tennessee at Red White & Rock — an event created to offer support to LGBT+ conservatives — on Sunday (Sept. 29). As Hot97 reported, he received an onslaught of negative comments following the news. After Baller Alert reposted the flyer that had been circulating online; he addressed his critics in the comment section.
Nearly one day later as more responses rolled in, he seemingly had a change of heart. “YOU KNO WHAT JUS CAUSE I DONT WANT TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS MESS. I HAVE DECLINED PERFORMING AND NO IM MOT A TRUMP SUPPORTER NOR SUPPORTER OF ANYONE ELSE BUT CHINGY. THURR YOU HAVE IT,” he wrote in under Baller Alert’s post.

On the other hand, this isn’t the first time Chingy faced criticism for his connections to conservative organizations. In 2016, the rapper endorsed Donald Trump for president. However, he quickly changed his mind after social media was enraged. “didn’t know about some of the negative things,” he began.
“He had to say about some of the races out here and about the hip-hop community. The rapper continued: “I didn’t know a lot of the negative things. I was kind of commenting off reading that article and reading some of the good things that he said, so that’s kind of where my comments came from,” he wrote on X (which at the time was still referred to as Twitter).
