Chris Brown is speaking up after fans ran into major problems at his Breezy Bowl concert at Truist Park over the weekend. Some concertgoers said they stood in line for hours, only to be told their seats were no longer valid.
On Instagram Wednesday, Brown acknowledged the frustration. “I saw the reviews about the difficulty at some venues with the parking, seating, etc… Hope yall understand this is my first stadium tour so I don’t know if the people in charge of that in the cities realized the capacity I would bring out. This is the first time I’ve ever been in these venues.” He also reminded fans, “Unfortunately, I’m not in charge of that.”
One of the people caught in the mix-up was Chad Powell, who spent $1,500 each on three VIP floor tickets. When his group arrived, their tickets wouldn’t scan. “His scanner read error, error, error, and it was in red. The guy said, ‘I’m sorry, but your section doesn’t exist anymore,’” Powell explained. While he eventually got inside, his new seats were not the ones he paid for. “We didn’t get what we paid for. It was not the same section, we were not in the same row, not the VIP,” he told Channel 2’s Cory James.
For others, the outcome was worse. Tanisha Renee said she never got in at all and left in tears. “I didn’t get into the concert that I paid for,” she said. “I’m going to go back home and hopefully Ticketmaster or whomever makes this right.”
By Sunday morning, James began contacting Ticketmaster, Live Nation, and Brown’s representatives. Ticketmaster later told Powell that his refund request is being escalated and he should have an answer within three to five days.
