Ciara is preparing to drop her new album “CiCi” on August 22nd, but before the big release, she sat down for a playful and heartwarming Billboard Family interview—this time with her 8-year-old daughter, Sienna, as the interviewer. The mother-daughter duo laughed, joked, and shared special memories while talking about the highly anticipated project.

“It’s been a long time coming with this project, so I like to say it’s a labor of love because I put a lot of time into it,” Ciara told Sienna. The album, which she began working on during the COVID-19 pandemic, is her first since 2019’s Beauty Marks. “It’s really an extra special gift for my fans,” she added.

Sienna stole the spotlight during the interview with her candid and unfiltered questions. When the topic of collaborating with her dad, NFL star Russell Wilson, came up, Sienna was quick to respond. “No, Dad is crazy,” she said, giggling. “His singing’s a little off. Seriously, I’m telling the truth.” Ciara laughed and agreed, saying, “I think it is best that Dad plays football and Mommy does music.”

CiCi will feature a star-studded lineup including Latto, Lil Baby, Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, Big Freedia, Bossman Dlow, and Jazze Pha. Reflecting on her career, Ciara also mentioned her favorite past collaborations, like working with Missy Elliott (“Lose Control”), Chris Brown (“How We Roll”), and Ludacris (“Oh”).

As for the future, Ciara is looking to expand her sound and explore new genres. “I want to sing in Spanish,” she revealed. “Like work with an artist like Bad Bunny would be super cool.”
