Ciara may soon be bringing her star power to reality television. The Grammy-winning singer revealed she would love to host Love Island, the fan-favorite dating show known for its whirlwind romances and dramatic twists.
In a new conversation with Complex’s Jordan Rose, the “Goodies” singer said she could easily imagine herself stepping into the role of mentor and guide for contestants. “I would definitely be up in there like Mama CiCi,” she shared. “I’d be like a sister, but sometimes I turn into a mama. When you want the best for someone, your heart leads you to step in.”
Ciara explained she wouldn’t shy away from offering advice when needed. “I’ll be like, ‘Y’all get your mind right,’” she said with a laugh. “The stuff they do on that show is crazy. It’s so disrespectfully good. I’d be like, ‘Why y’all making that girl go through this?’ Then I’m hooked, waiting to see what happens next.”
Her love for the show extends beyond herself. She revealed she’s also managed to get her husband, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, to watch alongside her. “I’ve dragged Russ into this thing with me, so he’ll indulge sometimes,” she admitted. “He’s so focused on football, so it’s not a regular habit, but he’ll watch.”
Their shared guilty pleasure comes as Love Island USA wrapped up its seventh season in July. Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales won the final prize, though they announced their breakup just days later. Meanwhile, runners-up Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen, supported by singer Chlöe Bailey, seem to be thriving outside the villa.
That balance between fleeting romance and lasting commitment may be why Ciara feels so drawn to the show. Her marriage to Wilson has become one of entertainment’s most celebrated love stories, and she credits their bond with teaching her patience and perspective.
“You start to trust the process more,” she reflected, “and you understand what’s for you will be for you when it’s supposed to.”
With her charm, wisdom, and real-life relationship experience, Ciara could bring both entertainment and guidance to the villa—making her a natural fit for Love Island’s next chapter.
