The newest chapter of Danity Kane unfolded in San Francisco this week as three of its original members, Aubrey O’Day, Aundrea Fimbres and D. Woods, opened The Untold Chapter Tour. This version of the group does not include Dawn Richard or Shannon Bex, marking yet another shift in a long history of reinvention. The tour’s tagline, “This isn’t a comeback. It’s a revelation,” set the tone for a night rooted in reflection, especially as their former label leader, Diddy, remains in nationwide headlines due to his trafficking-for-prostitution conviction.

Although Aubrey O’Day has openly expressed how deeply disturbed she was by the verdict, she has also been clear that she’s relieved Diddy is currently incarcerated. Dawn Richard, who testified against him, has taken a different path altogether, distancing herself from both Diddy’s camp and her former bandmates as she prepares to focus on solo work.

The show itself began with a reveal: Wanita Denise Woodgett stepping back into the lineup with O’Day and Fimbres. For longtime fans, the moment brought back memories of when the group first formed during Season 3 of MTV’s Making the Band. The original five—O’Day, Fimbres, Woodgett, Bex, and Richard—launched under Bad Boy Records, releasing a 2006 debut that produced hits like “Show Stopper,” “Ride for You,” and “Damaged.” Their first two albums debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, but the success didn’t stop the original framework from collapsing in 2008. Attempts to reunite in 2014 were brief and short-lived.

Midway through the performance, Aubrey addressed the emotional complexity tied to their legacy. “Y’all know the shit we’ve been through,” she told the crowd, adding, “So many people think so many damaging things about this group.”

A video message from Shannon Bex followed, assuring fans she still considers herself part of DK and praising the trio’s strength. Afterward, the three returned in white ensembles, performing slower records and sharing more about their struggles in and outside the industry.
