Diddy has scored another win in his ongoing legal troubles. On Tuesday, July 8th, Judge Leslie A. Stroth threw out some of the claims in April Lampos’ lawsuit against the mogul. Her ruling declared that the statute of limitations had long passed for Lampos’ allegations of forced sex in the 1990s.

Lampros’ lawyer, Tyron Blackburn, filed the legal motion in reference to New York City’s Gender-Motivated Violence Act to work around the typical limitations. However, Judge Stroth countered by referencing a recent ruling of the appellate court. The ruling she cites clarified that cases from December 19, 2000, and beyond are still applicable for legal action.

Lampros will still be pursuing legal action towards the mogul, alleging that he groped and forcibly kissed her. She claims the incident occurred in the early 2000s but can’t recall the exact date. Stroth stated, “To the extent that there is a question as to conduct occurring in the year 2000, such are not dismissed at this time, as further discovery is needed to determine the exact date of the alleged incidents.”

Diddy Team Responds, Deposition Demanded

Diddy’s legal team responded to the ruling, saying that the action “significantly” shortens Lampros’ statements. “Importantly, this ruling was made at the pleading stage, and no evidence on the surviving claim has been submitted to the court,” they continued. “Mr. Combs has not yet had an opportunity to contest those false allegations, and the court’s decision thus does not address their truth.”

Despite the ruling, Blackburn stays determined to pursue the case. He said, “I sent Sean Combs’ counsel notice that I intend to depose Sean Combs within 60 days, and I will be serving discovery demands this evening.”
