Sean “Diddy” Combs could publicly back former President Donald Trump if granted a presidential pardon, his longtime attorney Mark Geragos said in a recent interview. TMZ broke the news on Sunday (August 10).
Speaking on the 2 Angry Men podcast, Geragos was asked whether Combs would support Trump in exchange for clemency. Geragos, who has represented the music mogul for years, said such a political shift would happen quickly. He added that the potential move would not stem from political alignment, but from a personal connection.
Geragos explained that Combs and Trump share a common experience — high-profile legal battles with federal prosecutors. Both men have faced criminal charges they believe were unjustly pursued. According to Geragos, decades of defending clients have shown him that such cases often create a bond among defendants.
Combs is awaiting sentencing on prostitution-related charges after being acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking. Geragos said it would not be surprising if a pardon from Trump brought Combs into the former president’s camp. He framed the potential alliance as a product of shared resentment toward the justice system rather than partisan politics.
When asked whether discussions had taken place about how Combs might speak about Trump if pardoned, Geragos declined to give a direct answer. His expressions, however, hinted at possibilities he left unspoken.
The remarks add a political twist to Combs’ ongoing legal troubles, which have drawn widespread attention and debate. For Combs, whose career spans music, fashion, and business, aligning with Trump could reshape his public image. Such a move might alienate some fans while attracting unexpected allies.
For Trump, extending a pardon to Combs could serve as a calculated move to gain cultural influence and support from communities where the artist’s voice carries weight. It would also align with Trump’s past use of presidential pardons to build strategic relationships and spark public conversation.
No pardon has been offered, and no formal discussions have been confirmed. Still, Geragos’ comments highlight how legal struggles can influence unexpected alliances. Whether Combs would take that political leap remains uncertain, but his attorney’s confidence suggests it is a possibility that cannot be dismissed.
