Doja Cat and Pablo Tamayo have officially buried the hatchet, meeting up at Outside Lands after their viral run-in earlier this summer caused tension between them. Tamayo shared TikTok videos showing the day he traveled to San Francisco for the festival, revealing that Doja invited him to attend her headlining set as a VIP. In one clip, he documented how a member of her team led him to the stage during her performance so they could share a quick moment in front of the crowd. “Doja Cat invited me to @Outside Lands to squash the beef,” he wrote in the caption.
Backstage, Tamayo and Doja shared a lighthearted exchange. “How do I smell?” he asked with a laugh. “You smell amazing,” she responded. Tamayo then apologized for not knowing her real name, Amala Dlamini, when they first met. She reassured him by saying, “That’s fine. And you did not need to know.”
This interaction was far different from their first meeting in June. At that time, Tamayo greeted Doja with a hug, kissed her on the cheek, and handed her the shirt off his back while admitting he did not know her birth name. Although she appeared friendly during the encounter, Doja later criticized the moment online, writing, “I’ll smile at you but it doesn’t mean I f–k w you and don’t touch me… and he didn’t even know my f–kin name to be touching me and kissing on my face like that is crazy.” In another deleted post, she added, “I threw that musty a– shirt away btw.”
During their recent meetup, Tamayo asked if she had really thrown it out. Doja widened her eyes before saying, “I don’t know …” and walking off. Despite the mystery, Tamayo assured his followers that they are back on good terms. Doja, now focused on her next project Vie, recently posted, “It feels good to be kind. It hurts to not.”
