Drake and Sophie Brussaux recently reunited to mark a major milestone for their son, Adonis, who just turned eight years old. The pair celebrated with a western-themed party that looked straight out of a rodeo. Photos and clips shared across social media showed the proud parents smiling with their son as they helped him cut into a grand three-tiered cake decorated with denim, rope, and cowprint designs. The event space featured soft shades of blue, brown, and white, complete with playful “wanted” posters of Adonis hanging on the walls.
Over the weekend, Drake also posted a new picture of his son on Instagram Stories. Adonis looked relaxed in a plain white t-shirt, gray sweatpants, and a pair of Nike sneakers. Fans quickly noticed his new look, as the young boy now sports a shorter hairstyle instead of the long curls people often saw in earlier photos.
The Grammy-winning rapper has been vocal about his love for his son and even reflected on the moment Adonis was conceived during a show in Amsterdam earlier this year. “I was saying backstage, I was saying that this is the place. A very special place in my heart. Because this is where my son was conceived,” Drake told the audience. “So this is a big show for me, you know? I hold Amsterdam very dear to my heart.” He continued, “There would be no Adonis if there wasn’t an Amsterdam, so shoutout to y’all.”
Drake’s personal life hasn’t been without complications, though. Recently, a judge dismissed his defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group after a legal battle linked to his feud with Kendrick Lamar. The rapper’s team previously claimed he pulled Adonis from school for safety reasons, but Drake has since announced plans to appeal the court’s decision.
