Drake recently got personal on Instagram, sharing a moment of vulnerability that caught fans by surprise. On August 4th, he posted a photo of singer Gracie Abrams, followed by a picture of himself performing with his arm exposed. In both images, a similar brown birthmark is visible. Alongside the post, he wrote, “I used to hate my birthmark but Gracie got the same one. Now it’s art.”
Drake’s post quickly got people talking online. Some followers began to question if there’s something more going on between him and Gracie Abrams, while others started hoping for a possible joint project. A few even pointed out his repeated attention toward her, curious about his interest.
This isn’t the first time Drake has featured Abrams on his Story. Earlier this year, he showed love for one of her tracks, “I Knew It, I Know You,” from her album The Secret of Us. He highlighted the second half of the song, writing, “[GOAT]’d beat switch on this. Second half is [sad emoji, brain exploding emoji, blue heart emoji].” That post drove fans to revisit the music video, quickly flooding the comment section.
As for what’s next, both artists are staying busy with their own live shows. Drake is performing across Europe this week with scheduled stops in Manchester and Belgium. Gracie Abrams is back in the United States and preparing for two nights at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
While no collaboration has been announced, fans are hopeful that Drake’s admiration for Abrams might turn into something more. For now, it’s clear her presence and music have made an impression on him, enough to help him embrace something he once disliked about himself.
