“I just came out to pay respects to someone who lived it to the fullest,” Drake told the publication. He also called Osbourne a “cultural touchstone,” highlighting the singer’s influence even on those unfamiliar with his music. Drake posted a photo of the flower-covered bench on Instagram with the caption, “Drank with the NY Times last night for Ozzy,” but later deleted it.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away at age 76. His family shared a statement confirming his death: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.
