The 2016 election was a wild one to say the least.

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was ready to make history as the first female president of the United States of America. If you remember (no it’s not a dream), Donald Trump ended up making history as the first President of the United States to not have any political background.

On Tuesday (May 2), Clinton spoke on that election in detail for the first time at CNN’s Christiane Amanpour at a Women for Women event in New York, where she blamed FBI Director James Comey, Wikileaks, and of course the Russian hackers that influenced the election.

“If the election had been on Oct. 27, I would be your president,” she said. “It wasn’t a perfect campaign. There is no such thing. But I was on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey’s letter on Oct. 28 and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me and got scared off.”

She wasn’t dont either.

“Yes, I do think it played a role. I think other things did as well. Every day that goes by, we find out more about the unprecedented inference, including from a foreign power whose leader is not a member of my fan club. It is real; it is very much a part of the landscape, politically and socially and economically.”

Clinton then summarized the whole experience.

“The reason why I believe we lost were the intervening events in the last 10 days. You can see I was leading in the early vote.”

Trump of course got hold of the comments and responded the only way he knows how.
