Erica Mena has a few things to get off her chest regarding her divorce from Safaree.
In a Love and Hip Hop reunion clip, Erica details how Safaree’s lack of love and help with their newborn son broke her down. Erica said:
“It’s obvious me, and Safaree will never be. I was in the hospital bed with this man’s son. That man didn’t care if I made it through pregnancy, that man didn’t care if I made it through that labor.” Erica went on to say that she fought dark times by herself and struggled with doing basic tasks, like eating and getting out of bed. She said,
“There were times I couldn’t eat, and I have to face my kids and act like everything is okay because I’m the only one that feeds them on a day-to-day basis. Like I had to drag myself out of that dark place.”
Erica went on to say with her first son, she was hustling to break into the industry, so as a result, she didn’t get to spend as much time with him. Erica revealed she opened up to Safaree about how that impacted her and how being a single mom was traumatic. In the clip. she continued,
“It’s weird that he knows traumatic experiences I’ve had of being a single mother once, and then he turns around and makes me a single mother twice. I’ve already come to terms that Safaree will never take accountability, and that’s fine. He doesn’t owe me anything. All he owes is his kids.”
As Erica was speaking, Safaree had a shocked/sad look on his face. Scrappy is heard trying to encourage Safaree to say what’s on his mind, but Safaree is hesitant. Safaree admitted he didn’t know where to start but eventually apologized for how he treated Erica when their son was born. Around the time, a few days after the birth, Safaree left Erica to party in Jamaica with another woman.

Erica and Safaree tied the knot in 2019, but Erica filed for divorce last year after accusing him of infidelity. The divorce was finalized in September, and he’s ordered to pay $4,305 a month in child support. They have two children together, a daughter Safire and a son Legend and will share joint custody. Erica has a son from a previous relationship.
