Evelyn Lozada is addressing lingering rumors about her relationship with Tiffney Cambridge, dismissing claims of betrayal while affirming professional respect.

The Basketball Wives star spoke candidly on a recent episode of Stepping Into the Shade Room, clarifying the narrative surrounding her daughter, Shaniece Hairston, and Cambridge’s ex-fiancé, rapper The Game. The story made headlines in 2024, when Hairston announced she was expecting a child with The Game, prompting accusations that Lozada’s family had crossed “girl code” with Cambridge, who shares two children with the rapper.

“People think that you and Tiffney were really close friends,” host Thembi remarked during the interview.

Lozada responded firmly: “It is not true. It is literally a lie that took on a world of its own. People say anything. It’s not true.”

She stressed that linking Hairston’s relationship with The Game to any personal betrayal of Cambridge was a misconception fueled by rumor.

Lozada pointed to a resurfaced photo of Cambridge attending her baby shower more than a decade ago, noting that her presence reflected professional courtesy rather than personal closeness. “She was at my baby shower. A lot of people were at my baby shower,” Lozada said. “People also don’t understand industry, right? We’re all on VH1.”

She acknowledged Cambridge’s achievements, including her children’s book, The Little Girl Who Lost Her Smile, but emphasized the two are not close outside of professional circles.

“Me and Tiffney don’t have a dog in this fight,” Lozada said. “I’m answering these questions because it keeps coming up. She hasn’t said anything to me, and I haven’t said anything to her. It’s just a rumor and lie that kept spiraling.”

Lozada also offered insight into The Game’s perspective on the situation. “He probably laughs. He’s like, ‘F-ck everybody,’” she said. “He doesn’t comment on any of this. I’m hoping to get him on the podcast, but we’re waiting for some things… I have some questions for him.”

Through measured commentary, Lozada navigates the media scrutiny, emphasizing that her relationship with Cambridge remains professional and respectful. She insists the story has been exaggerated, inviting the public to separate rumor from reality while shedding light on her family’s perspective.
