Fabolous has released a new Friday Freestyle over SZA’s “Snooze.”

“I kinda like when they sleep on me though … that’s why they call me, Freddy,” he says in the beginning.

In the lyrics match the aesthetics visual directed by Andre “DreVinci” Jones, the Hot97 Hip-Hop 50 performer waking up in Australia and reenactment of his lavish escapades that include a penthouse suite poolside with beautiful women, shopping at Louis Vuitton, and racing through the city in an aqua Lamborghini.

Like his style, Fab’s signature laid-back style is on full display as he raps about being the flyest while avoiding drama. He plans to confront the haters like Katt Williams before exiting. “Guess Ni–a thought I was snoozing ’cause I’m laid-back. / Now, I’m at they neck like I’m Club Shay Shay Katt,” he raps.

“Snooze” is the second SZA sample Fabolous rapped over in his freestyle series. He released the freestyle “Tuluminati” last December and sampled the DJ Khaled, Future, and SZA single “Beautiful” from 2022’s God Did (Epic). “Snooze” appears on SZA’s second album, SOS.

The new freestyle is the latest in his Friday Freestyle series, which began in May 2022 with the first entry, “Cherrio Freestyle.” Fab’s previous freestyle, “Selfish Freestyle,” was controversial because a line seemed to be directed at his stepdaughter, who has frequently called him a “deadbeat father.” In a subliminal response, he raps: “Selfishness will make someone comment under your pic/ When he took care of you and your mama since you were six/ Who selfish?/ Maybe we all are.”

Fabolous spoke on his family issues with Ebro in the Morning in 2019 following his infamous 2018 outburst caught on surveillance camera with his ex-fiancee’s father.
