In a new musical set for Amazon Prime Video, Fat Joe, 53, and Jennifer Lopez, 54, reunite in This Is Me… Now, which released an official trailer on Wednesday (Jan.17).

The Bronx native thanked J-Lo for his involvement in the musical in an Instagram post upon the trailer’s release, he wrote: “It’s an Honor to work w/ my sister @jlo and I’m Excited to be in Jennifer Lopez’s “This Is Me…Now” A Love Story, directed by Dave Meyers. Watch it on @primevideo on February 16 thank you, love you, sis.”

Available for streaming on February 16, Fat Joe, real name Joseph Antonio Cartagena, plays Lopez’s therapist in the 65-minute film directed by Dave Meyers (“The Hitcher”). From the heart, soul, and dreams of Jennifer Lopez, the love story, co-written by Lopez, stars her and her husband and award-winning actor Ben Affleck. Rounding out the cast of the new intimate cinematic experience are Sofia Vergara, Keke Palmer, Trevor Noah, and Kim Petras.

Here’s the musical’s synopsis:

“This Is Me…Now: A Love Story is like nothing you’ve ever seen from Jennifer Lopez. Alongside director Dave Meyers, Jennifer has created a narrative-driven cinematic odyssey, steeped in mythological storytelling and personal healing. Dropping in tandem with her first studio album in a decade, this genre-bending Amazon original showcases her journey to love through her own eyes. With fantastical costumes, breathtaking choreography, and star-studded cameos, this panorama is an introspective retrospective of Jennifer’s resilient heart.”

The film will be accompanied by a new album of the same title, Lopez’s ninth studio album. She shared the new single and music video, “Can’t Get Enough,” from the album last week that saw the movie star poke fun at her marriage history. The mother of two has been in four high-profile marriages.

Both from the Bronx, Fat Joe and Jennifer Lopez’s friendship spans over 18 years with their first collaboration in 1999 on J-Lo’s hit song “Feelin’ So Good” featuring Fat Joe and Big Pun from her debut album, On The 6 (Epic). They would continue to create hit music together with hit songs “Stressin” and “Hold You Down.”

Along with his music career, Joe Crack The Don has maintained a steady acting career. Among his filmography are comedies like “Night School,” crime dramas like “Empire,” and animations like “Happy Feet.”

J-Lo isn’t the only icon Fat Joe has a lengthy history with. In 2022, Fat Joe shared iconic stories with hip-hop legends during an interview with Ebro while promoting his book “The Book of Jose.” Watch Joey Crack tell the jokes he and Big Pun would play on each other, below.
