Tyrone Blackburn, the attorney representing Terrance Dixon in a $20 million civil lawsuit against Fat Joe, was reportedly arrested Wednesday morning in connection with an alleged assault involving a process server.

According to TMZ, citing the New York Police Department, Blackburn is accused of striking a process server with his car during a May incident, causing minor injuries. Fat Joe’s legal team claims the act was intentional to evade being served court papers.

Blackburn plays a central role in Dixon’s lawsuit, which accuses the Bronx rapper—born Joseph Cartagena—of defamation, unpaid compensation, and breach of trust. Dixon, once part of Fat Joe’s entourage, claims to have worked as a hype man, lyricist, background vocalist, and security detail. His lawsuit followed a prior defamation and extortion suit filed by Cartagena against both Dixon and Blackburn.

Joe Tacopina, Fat Joe’s attorney, called Blackburn’s arrest unsurprising. “This is just another chapter in his pattern of misconduct,” Tacopina said in a statement. “Blackburn has used the legal system as a weapon. That ends now.”

Tacopina added that Cartagena’s earlier suit was filed to expose what he called a coordinated effort to damage his client’s name. “They set out to destroy his reputation with lies. This arrest is just the start. We’re confident the truth will come out.”

The arrest has only heightened tensions in a case already marked by sharp accusations. Tacopina previously described Dixon’s claims as retaliation and dismissed the lawsuit as a distraction from Fat Joe’s initial filing. He alleges that Tyrone Blackburn and Dixon used threats and fabricated stories to pressure him into a settlement.

Blackburn now faces legal scrutiny not just for his role in the case, but also for his alleged off-court behavior. Meanwhile, rapper 50 Cent, also named in Dixon’s lawsuit, dismissed the claims online, calling them “baseless.”

As both lawsuits develop, the legal drama surrounding Fat Joe’s former circle continues to grow. The reputations of everyone involved hang in the balance.
