On This Day: 22 Years Ago Hip Hop Mourned The Loss Of The Notorious B.I.G [PHOTO + VIDEO]

On this day in 1997, hip-hop legend, Biggie Smalls, was shot and killed in Las Vegas. Christopher Wallace, also known as The Notorious B.I.G, was killed in a drive-by shooting while leaving P. Diddy’s party. B.I.G was at a stop light when a car reportedly pulled up beside him and opened fired. Biggie was shot four times and pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m.

That day changed the course of hip-hop. Many celebrities are celebrating his life today.

To many, B.I.G is considered to be the greatest rapper of all time. In 2006, MTV ranked Biggie number 3 on their list of The Greatest MCs of All Time list. In 2015, he was named the greatest rapper of all time by Billboard. He is also a 4-time Grammy nominee.

Today, on the 22nd anniversary of his passing, we remember his music and the impact he left on hip hop culture. B.I.G's legacy continues to live on through his music, the Bad Boy records empire, his children and his fans.
