The sudden death of Salvatore Strazzullo, ex-lawyer to Foxy Brown, sent shockwaves through the legal community and beyond. Strazzullo, known as the “Night-Life Lawyer” for his involvement in high-profile cases, was found dead in his car outside his parents’ Brooklyn residence. The cause of death remains unconfirmed at this time, leaving many unanswered questions.
A Troubled Legal Career
Before his passing, the 52-year-old lawyer was embroiled in serious legal troubles, including accusations of defrauding elderly clients out of millions. Strazzullo had a reputation for representing high-profile clients, including Foxy Brown, whom he defended in a 2011 case where she was accused of mooning a neighbor. That case was eventually dismissed, but Strazzullo’s legal issues were far from over. He faced a lawsuit for sexual harassment from a former employee that same year.
Allegations of a Ponzi Scheme
More recently, Strazzullo was accused of using his escrow account as a Ponzi scheme. He allegedly diverted funds from clients to pay off other clients and finance a luxurious lifestyle. Prosecutors claimed he stole over $3.8 million, which he used to buy expensive cars, apartments, and to indulge in high-end dining and hotels. Strazzullo maintained his innocence despite the gravity of the charges. He pleaded not guilty to first-degree grand larceny. He also pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of second-degree grand larceny and a first-degree scheme to defraud.
In another case from December 2023, Strazzullo was charged with stealing $1.5 million from three clients. He also pleaded not guilty in that case, with both legal battles ongoing at the time of his death.
Meanwhile, Foxy Brown has been in the spotlight for reasons beyond her ex-lawyer’s troubles. Rumors suggest she may testify in Keefe D’s trial over Tupac Shakur’s murder. Foxy recently clashed with Keith Murray over his claims of a past romantic encounter. Murray stood by his statements, saying, “Everything I said about Foxy Brown was true… If I offended her, I apologize for bringing out my truth.”
