Freeway has honored the memory of his late daughter, Harmony, with the creation of a new scholarship fund benefiting nearly two dozen female, Muslim students.

On Wednesday (April 17), the former Roc-A-Fella rapper surfaced on Instagram where he shared an initiative close to his heart.

“In cherished memory of my beautiful daughter Harmony, who courageously battled cancer and left us in 2021, the @360traininganddevelopment and @freedomthinkersacademy bestowed the Ahebbak Harmony Girls Scholarship upon 18 Female Muslim students 🌟,” he began. “It’s a divine blessing to give back, and may these young ladies, with God’s grace, soar toward their dreams.🙏💕”

He continued, “We eagerly anticipate supporting you as you embark on your journey toward entrepreneurship, workforce certifications, or undergraduate degrees. The initiative, named the Freedom Thinkers Academy, pledges “to provide awareness in music, health, and education through discussions, events, mentoring, face-to-face, virtual create-it-yourself (CIY) music workshops, and a workforce development program for individuals who share his experiences and passion.”

In October 2021, the Philadelphia rapper announced the heartbreaking news of his daughter’s passing, expressing the profound pain he felt as he dealt with her untimely death.

“You know the saying sugar and spice and everything nice, well that’s my Harmony!” he wrote alongside a video clip of Harmony dancing, on Instagram. “I promise y’all she was the sweetest most kind most caring generous loving adorable person I know. Allah Really blessed me putting her in my life. I love her so much and this hurts so bad.

“This video was February of this year on her 21st birthday. Even though she was fighting cancer she was always happy and always smiling and she always brightened up my day. The only thing that’s giving me comfort is I know 100% that she believes in Allah and she was a good person. I truly believe she has everything it takes to enter into heaven. [raised palms, praying hands, red heart emoji]”

He went on to ask for continued prayer and support, writing: “Please keep her in your prayers & please ask God to show her comfort and mercy. Listen Life & Death is very real! cherish your love ones & keep them close to you because you never know, we are not promised our next breath. She truly was my best friend and I don’t know what I’m gonna do this pain is unimaginable. [tear, broken heart emoji]”

Harmony’s passing came after the tragic loss of his son, Jihad Pridgen, in 2020, at the age of 19. However, details surrounding his death remain unclear.
