Gucci Mane was one of the first to celebrate Pooh Shiesty’s return home. The 1017 Records founder took to Instagram to welcome his artist back, writing, “Welcome home @poohshiesty The MainSlime is back,” alongside several cold-face emojis. His post quickly spread across social media as fans joined in on the celebration, marking the Memphis rapper’s long-awaited release from prison.
Pooh Shiesty, born Lontrell D. Williams, was freed last night after serving roughly three years of his 63-month federal sentence. Clips from the celebration surfaced online, showing him smiling and flashing stacks of cash while surrounded by friends and family. Champagne bottles were popped as loved ones toasted to his freedom, and the internet lit up with messages of support for the “Back In Blood” rapper.
His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome in a statement shared with XXL. “I am elated that Pooh has been released after 3 years,” Cohen said. “The government fought hard to give him 10, but after listening to the case, the Judge agreed with us that it was not appropriate and gave him a sentence that resulted in him serving 3 years. I know he will come back bigger than ever and definitely learned from this experience. He is excited to start the next chapter of his story. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and I think that this is just the beginning of his second act.”
Pooh Shiesty’s legal journey began in 2020 with a robbery case that later connected to a 2021 shooting at a Miami strip club. In 2022, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes. Originally set to be released in April 2026, he’s now home early and seemingly ready for a fresh start.
